Here are some ideas that you can use to raise funds and share awareness of social justice. Please add new ideas as comments to help out others raise funds.
Babysitting: Provide child care for families and take all the funds and put it towards poverty revolution. Explain to the family why you are doing it.
Movie Night: Instead of going out to a movie, get all your friends to come to your house and watch a DVD, take the $12 you would have paid for a movie and each of you put it towards poverty revolution.
Shovel Snow: It is what it is, shovel your neighbors house and let them know you are doing it to raise money for social justice.
14 Day Water Challenge: Drink only water. Every dollar that you would spend on any other drink put it towards poverty revolution. Appreciate the fact that 80% of the world does not have clean water and you do.
Skip A Meal: Two options with this one. The average meal is $10, skip the meal, feel the hunger and put it towards poverty revolution. Your entire family can skip a meal or eat in and put it towards poverty revolution.
Get Sponsored: Ask FRIENDS and FAMILY to sponsor you for this weekend. Share with them what have learned. Please do not solicit people that you do not know and definitely do not solicit people in Fellowship Church
It is truly amazing to see just how much poverty is all around us. We become so numb to others needs. I will challenge anyone $1 for $! who will give up that meal, coffee, lunch or movie. God wants us to be cheerful hilarious givers will anybody out there take the challenge?

Very similar thinking and it may be great to see you both work together somehow. They should at least be one of your partners. Keep spreading the word…we can all play a huge part to overcome poverty.
